The Chair of Production Systems (LPS) in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) conducts research in the fields of virtual planning and commissioning of production systems, automation technology, production planning and control of production systems, quality assurance in production technology and corporate transformation. In addition, the LPS operates a state-of-the-art learning factory or learning and research factory (LFF) for the implementation and evaluation of Industry 4.0 research results in a practical factory environment. The LPS Learning and Research Factory is a place for research, teaching, qualification and industry cooperation. The interdisciplinary orientation of the LPS is characterized by joint initiatives such as the WorldFactory or the Research Center for the Engineering of Smart Product-Service Systems (ZESS)
